Our Journey

From humble beginnings to becoming Myanmar's leading pharmaceutical enterprise - a story of growth, innovation, and service.

1957

Foundation Era

Established as Burma Pharmaceutical Industry (BPI) under the Ministry of Industry, beginning Myanmar's journey in domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing with a single facility in Yangon.

1960s-1970s

Expansion Phase

Expanded production capacity and product range to meet growing healthcare demands. Established additional manufacturing facilities and began serving government hospitals nationwide.

1988

Reorganization

Reorganized as Myanmar Pharmaceutical Factory (MPF), modernizing operations and introducing new manufacturing technologies to improve product quality and production efficiency.

2000s

Modernization

Implemented GMP standards and obtained international certifications. Expanded to three manufacturing facilities and introduced advanced quality control systems.

2016

New Facilities

Opened new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Insein, Ywathagyi, and Inyaung, significantly expanding production capacity and product diversity.

2019

LVPS Facility

Commissioned Large Volume Parenteral Solution (LVPS) production facility with blow-fill-seal technology, enhancing our capacity to produce intravenous solutions.

2024

Digital Transformation

Launched comprehensive digital platform with E-Tender system, enhancing transparency and accessibility for vendors and stakeholders across Myanmar.

Insein Facility

Our flagship manufacturing facility in Yangon, specializing in tablets, capsules, and solid dosage forms. Equipped with modern machinery and quality control laboratories.

Ywathagyi Facility

Specialized facility for liquid formulations including syrups, suspensions, and topical preparations. Features advanced mixing and filling equipment.

  • Capacity: 10 million bottles annually

Inyaung Facility

Our newest facility featuring advanced blow-fill-seal technology for Large Volume Parenteral Solutions (LVPS) and sterile injectable products.
